Some notes:
- We've been asked several times for an easy-to-understand table that compares the most common Free Software licenses.
Georg's and Shane's speeches are available at http://streaming.linux-magazin.de/archiv_cos09.htm (I didn't get this to work, but found the URLs of the files: Georg Shane)
- We had a few requests for possible speeches at universities
- request for overview: "Arguments for managers: why switch to Free Software"
- A lot of employees expressed their willingness to Free Software, but they get forced to use proprietary software by their superiors.
- A donation box from the beginning would have been useful. We made one out of a plastic cup, but something more professional would be good.
- A lot (A LOT) of people were reluctant to grab our info material because it was too cumbersome and asked for simple business cards to check "all the rest" _online_. (I personally welcome that idea to save some trees.) We were able to hand out the ones from Shane and Graeme, but it would be nice to have some general business card formatted info about the FSFE (like the old green fellowship mini cards).
- just the letters "fsfe" didn't mean anything to the visitors. (Almost) nobody knew what they stand for. I think the "Free Software Foundation Europe" should be visible somewhere on the front of the folders and everything else. Maybe this is worth considering before we order any new leaflets.
- The Plussy stickers were a great help as a "door opener". We offered them "for free" to bypassing visitors and instantly had a starting point for a chat. After a very positive conversation, we had to leave them with the sticker and a nice impression of our organisation, but unfortunately, they will not be able to remember where to find more info about us, because the stickers have no indicator what or where the "plussy" belongs to. Once we noticed that, we started to handwrite "www.fsfe.org" on the back of the stickers. Anyway, this should be ON the stickers somewhere IMO.
My feeling was that about 97% of all visitors have not heard of the FSFE ever before. But once we explained what we are doing and for what reasons, almost everybody was happy that we exist and asked instantly: "How can I support your work?" -- I think we could recycle the "new-years-campaign"-leaflet for general Fellow-recruitment. We just have to remove the "new-year" stuff
