Linuxtag, one of the biggest events around Free Software in Europe, will take place from 24. - 27. June 2009 in Berlin, Germany. Like in the previous years, FSFE will be present with a booth. A lot of question might already be answered on Linuxtag's wiki.

How should I prepare?

If this is your first booth, please read our booth information page. Beside that you should read through our leaflets and read our folder to get an overview.

Accomodation

As we have several Fellows in Berlin we try provide accomodation for all booth volunteers. Please let mk know:

When do you plan to leave?
Do you need accomodation?
If you prefer a hotel, and in that case which room type (single or double) do you need? Booth Equipment

We need a piggy bank!! * Have some books at the booth as demo versions (BPB books, Lessig, Reiter, Möller, Drahos...)
Materials should be sent so they arive not before 23. June 14:00 to the following address. Please make sure to announce the package before to mk and Lena, because we have to inform Linuxtag e.V. about expected materials.

Am Abend des 26. Juni (Freitag), anlässlich des LinuxTags in Berlin plant die LinuxWorks! einen "Social Event" in Form eines Grillabends durchzuführen.
Das ganze soll stattfinden auf den dem Gelände des Jugendclub E-Lok bzw. Workstation-Berlin e.V. Es handelt sich dabei um ein wunderschönes Gartengelände in der Laskerstr. 6-8. In unmittelbarer Nähe zum Bhf. Oskreuz ist das Gelände verkehrstechnisch hervorragend angebunden. Gleich nebenan befindet sich eine Supermarkt, in dem Grillgut gekauft werden kann, bei schlechtem Wetter bietet das Gebäude genug Innenraum um im trockenen zu feiern. Zum Zeitpunkt des Linuxtags wird es auf dem Gelände flächendeckend offenes WLAN geben.
Die genannten Räumlichkeiten werden unter anderem von LinuxWorks! für die wöchentlichen Treffen genutzt. Lagepläne und Fotos sind verlinkt auf der Homepage von LinuxWorks!: http://friedrichshain.homelinux.org

Booth Guidelines

No hacking at the booth: you want to use your computer to read e-mails, etc. please check that there is enough staff at the booth and take your computer somewhere else. Please, that is important. It looks very unfriendly to visitors if the booth crew does not show interest in things which happen outside their computer. There is a "Developer Room" for project's members only in hall 7.1c.
No luggage at the booth: please do not leave your luggage at the booth. This looks very messy. There will be the possibility to lock your luggage somewhere else.
