Categories

Categories are a non-hierarchical means to organize information in this wiki. They should not be used in place of namespaces, but in addition to them (think of categories as a way to add tags to your pages).

As a rule of thumb:

  • You should organize pages in namespaces when there is a clear hierarchy of pages1

  • When there is no clear hierarchy, or if you need to place a page in a specific namespace, use categories2

Adding a category

  • All categories need to be in the namespace Category

  • Before adding a new category, look at the existing ones and make sure that no other category is suitable for you

  1. E.g. put you local group project pages below your local group page. (1)

  2. E.g. you might want to tag your local group events and global projects that your group is involved in. (2)
